Earth Security has today released a new foresight brief exploring how blue carbon credits can deliver premium market value through verified co-benefits and strategic investment alignment.Titled Unlocking the Blue Carbon Premium, the brief presents a timely response to growing demand for high-integrity carbon credits that deliver more than emissions reductions — offering value through coastal resilience, biodiversity, and social impact.

In 2018, Earth Security was commissioned by the Swiss Development Agency’s Global Water Programme to develop a practical and investable pathway for global capital markets to contribute to the global agenda of transboundary water cooperation. The objective was to align private finance with the Swiss Government’s Blue Peace Initiative, a flagship diplomatic effort to support water cooperation in high water risk regions such as the Middle East and North Africa, Central Asia, and South Asia.

In 2015, Earth Security was invited by the BMW Foundation to design and facilitate a strategic dialogue in Poland. The initiative convened energy stakeholders from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, and the European Union—including energy and infrastructure companies, financial institutions, and policy experts—to explore shared interests in energy security as a foundation for regional cooperation.

Over the past year, we have partnered with the Bogotá Water Fund (Fondo de Agua de Bogotá Región, Corporación Agua Somos) to turn our research on cloud forest assets into action, identifying and mobilising investment opportunities to support high-Andean páramos as vital water infrastructure. In the run up to the COP16 Biodiversity Summit in Colombia, we are introducing a new investment theme aimed at creating impactful opportunities for private investors.

In 2017, we partnered with the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA), to explore how NbS could be incorporated into the industry’s climate resilience strategy.
